How To Take Your Passion And Make Money By Doing What You Love

The reason why most of us aren’t doing what we love to do is that we don’t want to risk what we have for what we can achieve. Although the economic constraints are justified, yet there are people who advocate loving what you do and finding a way to make that activity money generating. I am also one such advocate and highly recommend picking a profession that you love.

Generating money from your passion requires careful planning, as you don’t want your passion to be a failure in terms of giving you monetary benefits. In the post below, I shall discuss with you some easy and simple ways of making money by doing what you love.

How To Take Your Passion And Make Money By Doing What You Love

Be a Consultant

If you have a passion for business, its processes and have attained a certain level of expertise in it, then you can charge hourly as a consultant for your services and enjoy making money by doing what you love to do. Providing consultation to startup businesses can be a good start to the money-making process.

Be a Coach

If your passion lies in topics and matters related to life or personal needs, then you can be a coach and earn money by doing it. You can help someone lose weight, help them decorate the house, or increase their skill in a particular sport. The amazing thing is that you don’t have to do extensive marketing in this regard; all you need to do is to send an email out to your friend list and ask them if they know anyone who requires coaching in the field you are most passionate about. As soon as you get the first client, the process of money generating will start and go on increasing.

Host A Workshop

If the thing you are passionate about something in which people require guidance, then conducting a workshop or seminar can help you monetize it. You may get few participants in the start; consider it as a chance to make the seminar more intimate. If you get only a couple of people, then consider it a chance to provide personal coaching to the participants. Therefore, if you really know everything about what you love then do conduct a seminar.

Write an eBook

Another great way of monetizing your passion is by writing an eBook. People are searching for all sorts of information on the internet, all you need to do is write a good eBook about whatever niche you love and have expertise in, and then go and find the platforms where your target audience is present. Writing an eBook is a onetime effort and after that, you just earn money by marketing it.

How To Take Your Passion And Make Money By Doing What You Love

Start A Video Series

Starting a video series about the thing you love is another way that can generate monetary benefits. All you have to do is make a video that is informative to the extent that people are willing to pay for it and then sell it to them. You can make the video in different forms like a question and answer session, an interview or in the form of lectures on a particular topic. Therefore, starting a video series with content worth selling and in demand can help you monetize what you feel passionate about.

Offer Your Expertise Via Services

Outsourcing your services is another way of making money from what you are most passionate about. You can sell your services at different platforms and generate money from doing what you love. The best thing about it is that you have the freedom of negotiating the terms and conditions along with the charges.

Now it’s Your Turn!

  8. My passion has always been to be a business owner, and to work from home. I accomplished both by having an online store that I work from home, selling things I love. It’s amazing, really. It was my dream since I was 5 or 6 years old.! 😉

  11. Hi Nate,

Very few people pursue things they love and manage to make a living out of it. I think those few are the ‘luckiest’ people in this world! And obviously, I want to be one among them 🙂

You said it right, people refrain from pursuing their passion because they are afraid to ‘lose’ their possessions. They don’t want to get out of that comfort zone.

You’ve discussed some fabulous ways for people to start pursuing things they love and make money at the same time.

In my case, I’ve just started out. Blogging is my passion. And I’m slowly working towards my aim of monetizing it 🙂 Yes, the path is a difficult one, decorated with obstacles.

But as long as I’m doing what I love, difficulties don’t matter!

  17. Hi Nate,

Learning how to monetize your passion is a process. A lot of people can deliver amazing content via their passion, and are a great value to the marketplace. The challenge is marketing your passion in such a way where you will be able to get your message out to the masses. Nate, for me I love helping people develop as strong leaders, not necessarily just in the market place, but in their homes also. To help people become better communicators, and a lover and believer of people. I chose the Network Marketing Industry as way to achieve my purpose. However, I do see myself transitioning into become a leadership trainer/coach. Nate, I definitely resonated with your paragraph about coaching.

  18. Charmie says:

    Well,
While I was trouble shooting on the same topic the first solution which came to my mind was conducting some seminars and guiding kinda thing. Even me and my team did this by conducting a seminar and we got a good acknowledgement.
Thanks for making me aware of more. 🙂

  22. Nate, thanks so very much for a great post and reminder about how we are giving our best to others by nurturing that which we are passionate about. I am passionate about helping family caregivers navigate through the myriad of issues through all care giving stages, professional success coaching, leadership consulting and business process consulting. I know it’s best to create services and products in the same vertical; however, what do you think about lateral service offerings like the ones I mentioned here?

    • Nate Leung says:

      Hi Tandy,

Anything you decide to do within your niche will work no matter what. What you mentioned about coaching, and consulting that is lateral across any type of business. It doesn’t matter if it’s the personal development niche, fitness niche, cooking niche, etc. It transfer all across the board. If you noticed that most of what I talk about is all relative at the end of the day. You can take one type of services you offer and spread it across the board. Hope that helps! 🙂

    • Nate Leung says:

If you are passionate about driving trucks, you can certainly make money from it and cater your expertise around that niche. You can create a blog, a product, and anything that brands you. There are people that out there that are looking for an opportunity. You can show them what it takes to be successful in the trucking business. You can make money in anything that you’re passionate about. 🙂

    Hi Nate,

Really nice post. I can say those are really the luckiest people in the World that they can do what they love and in the area of their passion.
I love blogging but due to some constraint I couldn’t able to concentrate on it. But now I just started and happy with it. 🙂

  25. Phillip Dews says:

My passion is blogging and webdesign/development another thing I would suggest is having a contract in place especially if you provide a service like I do.

I remember building a hip/hop website called ‘Pay Ur Dets TV’ Yes I know the spelling is atrocious but that’s what the clients wanted anyway after 3 weeks of building it my client did not want it and refused to pay me!

Since then I have had a contract in place as it protects both me and the client with certain rights! Something I have learned the hard way and I think the name of their site (or lack of it) is quite apt!

    Awesome post Nate!

  26. Fabulous post – and yes it takes courage and persistence to find and do what we have a passion for – it is easier to keep working for only money (and of course important), but adding in passion makes it so much more fun. 🙂

  27. Another way of having success is writing blogposts and sharing with others ideas that duplicate.

While I think overcoming fear is a learned skill, I also believe that sometimes it takes time. If you find yourself rushing, take it easy. Great Read, Nate!

Being new, I really appreciate this post! Very informative and helpful 🙂 Thanks a lot for sharing! I already discovered that making videos help a lot 🙂

  30. Zanin says:

One of the most powerful ways to support your passion is with proper planning. There are many phases of planning necessary for new small businesses, but three types of plans rise to the top of the list for almost any small business.

  31. Great post – and fear and planning – takes efforts, which for many takes the ‘instant on’ out of the equation and can be the stopper to moving on. 🙂

  32. nice post
